What is cellulite? The term cellulite is used to describe a cosmetic imperfection that causes distress to millions of women. On the surface, cellulite is lumpy, bumpy, ripply skin that first appears, most commonly, on the thighs and buttocks. Cellulite is more commonly found in women and is indiscriminate of size, shape or weight. What causes cellulite? The storage of fat in the adipocytes (fat cells in the dermis) as well as water in the dermis and hypodermis contribute to the visibility of cellulite. As the adipocytes increases in size, their membranes become distorted and place strain on their points of fixation within the skin resulting in the unsightly lumpy appearance (orange peel effect). This process is then aggravated by a slowing down of circulation resulting in the stagnation of toxin and the reduction of nutrients within the structures. Congestion of the connective tissue also occurs which results in the loss of elasticity. How is cellulite produced? Beneath the skin lies a pattern of connective tissue which separates the skin from the underlying muscle. Connective tissue is a network of cells that connects, supports, and encloses other tissues and organs of the body. Fat deposits that form in the spaces of the connective tissue stick together and bulge outward; circulation is inhibited and toxins become trapped. The result is the dimpled appearance known as cellulite. Does cellulite only affect over weight women? No, cellulite does not discriminate between size, weight or shape. Can dieting eliminate cellulite? No, dieting alone cannot eliminate cellulite. Cellulite deposits are “locked away” and cannot be readily used as fuel for the body. Can cellulite be treated? Yes, Bio-Dermology provides safe, effective, non-invasive treatments for the reduction of cellulite.
What is Bio-Dermology? The Bio-Dermology cellulite reduction system has been designed to provide effective cellulite reduction through a mechanical breakdown of cellulite, an increase in lymphatic drainage to assist in the elimination of waste products and excess fluid, and an increase in circulation. The result is an increased metabolic rate and improvement of the overall skin condition.
How does it work? Bio-Dermology cellulite reduction treatments work on the principle of vacuum massage. Through increased circulation of the lymphatic and circulatory systems, these advanced treatments ensure that the nutritive elements, vitamins and minerals leave the blood capillaries and travel to the connective tissue. The cells are then able to obtain the necessary elements for increased metabolism and elimination of waste products. As the dermis and epidermis tissues are oxygenated, fed and drained, the cellulite begins to loosen and move. What can it treat?
